World class mountain bike trials riders Ben and Chris from trialsdisplay.co.uk put on two fantastic shows for the winners and runners up of the Virtual Tour de France. Children, parents and staff from Bawtry Mayflower and Bentley New Village schools were treated to a display of amazing cycling skill, balance and bravery including tricks, stunts and evern a high-jump competition!

After leading from the very first stage, the winner of the 2009 Virtual Tour de France is Bawtry Mayflower Primary. Second place goes to Bentley New Village Primary.
Honorable mentions go to Totley Primary - the highest scoring of the Sheffield schools, Hexthorpe Primary - who more than doubled the number of children cycling to school in a single week and Castle Hills Primary - for packing one hundred and sixteen bikes into their shelters for a Bike It Breakfast during week 3.
Thankyou to everyone who has been involved and well done for making the 2009 Virtual Tour de France such a spectacular success!

The Final School of The Week award goes to Castle Hills Primary who have almost doubled the number of children cycling to school since last week. Congratulations to them for winning the Raleigh Burner Chaos BMX.

The 2009 Bike It Virtual Tour de France has generated 6,150 cycle journeys to school, that's over 1,500 more than last year's Virtual Tour de France. Those cycle journeys have:

The Bike It Virtual Tour de France has now reached a fantastic five thousand cycle journeys to school. Cycling is a brilliant way to get some of the sixty active minutes that children need every day to stay healthy. Well done to everyone taking part in the Virtual Tour de France for helping to keep themselves, and our planet, fit and well.

Mayflower have raffled the Raleigh Burner Grief BMX they won as the fist
school of the week. The winner of the bike was

Research! Well done to Charlotte for winning
the bike, and to everyone who helped raise money for such a great
cause.

At the end of the third week, and with another six stages still to go, the Bike It Virtual Tour de France has reached an amazing 4104 cycle journeys to school! All those cycle journeys have used the same number of calories as you'd find in over 1200 chocolate bars!

Next week School of the Week will be awarded to the school that shows the most improvement in number of pupils cycling.

The Bike It Virtual Tour de France continues to go from strength to strength. It's stage 12, just over halfway through the race and we've already counted over three thousand cycle journeys to school! That's adds up to enough miles to go from the UK to India! Well done to everone who's taking part

It's only Stage 8, but the Bike It Virtual Tour de France has already counted over two thousand bike journeys to school. If those journeys had been made by car it would have produced enough climate changing carbon dioxide to fill 60,000 balloons! Going by bike makes no carbon dioxide at all, so well done to everyone who's taking part for doing their bit to save the world!
